Managing Stress as a Highly Sensitive Person.

My love for astrology only grows as I continue to study and observe my day to day experience. I’ve mentioned before that I work as an HR professional in the mortgage industry and days can be stressful AF! However, understanding and accepting what I need to restore my energy and balance my nervous system has changed the game in my professional and personal life.

Astrology plays a significant role in my preparation for the days, weeks, even months ahead. Truthfully, I find that the topics discussed in my therapy conversations have aligned perfectly with moon and mercury transits.

With the recent shift of Mercury in Aries, and it’s journey to retrograde, I have been faced with the nudge to “get back out there.” From 2017-2020, I shared tons of content about spirituality, intuitive gifts and energy healing. However, I stopped offering free oracle readings and services, because your girl was stressed!

I was doing too much, trying to please too many people. I wasn’t equipped with the proper tools to manage that heightened level of stress. Being a highly sensitive person can bring about unique challenges in navigating daily life, especially when it comes to managing stress. My heightened sensitivity to external stimuli and emotions made it overwhelming to cope with the demands of the world I’d created.

After taking time away, I’d learn the strategies that helped me effectively deal with stress and maintain my well-being.

One key aspect of managing stress I’d begun to experience was prioritizing self-care. This included setting boundaries to protect my energy, practicing mindfulness and relaxation techniques, getting enough rest, and engaging in activities that brought me joy and calmness. It's important to tune into your own needs and give yourself permission to take breaks when feeling overwhelmed.

Additionally, building a strong support system (in real life) became instrumental in managing stress. Surrounding myself with understanding and empathetic individuals who respected my experiences and provided a sense of security and comfort, created an environment of calm. Seeking professional help from therapists or counselors who specialize in working with highly sensitive individuals also offered valuable insights and coping strategies.

By incorporating these practices into your lifestyle, you can effectively manage stress as a highly sensitive person and cultivate a life that is more balanced, fulfilling, and harmonious. I’m excited to return to my platform and share all that I’ve learned while away.

Remember, your sensitivity is a gift that can be harnessed to bring about deeper connections with yourself and the world around you.

I’m an advocate for taking your time and learning how to develop a lifestyle that honors your sensitivities. That’s why I wrote Blessed and Highly Sensitive. An e-book on how to balance your gifts and needs as a Highly Sensitive Person.
